What they liked

I know the culture isn't the same across the entire Sagicor but I like where I work. I am paid well. I also work from home alot, don't work overtime and have a great manager.

What was challenging

Current restructuring

Their advice

Front line staff don't get paid well. Only accept a job that is Level 3T, 3S or higher

What they liked

Good bus system, pay not too bad, central location bordering Kingston and St. Catherine

What was challenging

Extremely horrible scent on-site, poor bathroom facilities, water always going away, poor lunch room setup with no A/C so the bad smell from outside affects your lunch time quality, poor canteen system where the canteen closes earlier than some shifts end in the evenings, management can sometimes be unprofessional and rude

Their advice

You can go short term, but not for long. The scent alone will lead you away.

What they liked

Good benefits (health, gym, discounts); work from home availability/flexibility, good HR, good bus system for after hours

What was challenging

Poor management, poor practices, overly sexual environment, poor leadership skills from management

Their advice

If you’re going, choose a good paying campaign that’s flexible, full of benefits, and pays well enough for starters. Sutherland increases pay via good employee yearly ratings and your pay can increase annually.

What they liked

The pay and benefits were good.

What was challenging

Work was disregarded, promotion was sabotaged. Heavy workload and you are constantly expected to take on more.Sometimes doing the job of 2 people.

Their advice

Socialize with peers outside of your department so that you will be able to grasp opportunities for advancement. Save and invest so that you will have resources if you are let go.

What was challenging

The workload is high and you're pushed to do even more.

Their advice

Be prepared to learn fast while on the job. Learn to ask the right questions of everyone especially customers if you will be interacting with them. Take your lunch break and disconnect fully at the end of every work day. There will always be more work.

What they liked

Governed environment, so there is stability in the job. Also, the little civil servant"perks" available eith companies are able to be accessed.

What was challenging

The time taken to get things approved, done, reviewed... anything that requires management to make a decision will be done very slowly. Additionally, the workload has become intensive as whenever the purview of the organisation expands, so does the workload and currently, the positions have not kept up with workload.

Their advice

Be sure about your ability to push through mediocrity and try your best to make as many friends as possible. Perceived friendship makes the job much easier.

What they liked

The benefits were good and the WFH flexibility as well as the working environment.

What was challenging

No clear direction. An obvious segregation between external contractors

Their advice

Stay here for no more than 2-3 years. If after that period of time a promotion or career upgrade hasn't been discussed/promised. Move on

What they liked

I like the pay. The base pay and incentives are among the highest in the BPO sector. You are able to save and see your money.

What was challenging

There is no clear communication. Clients, supervisors and managers have no respect for agents, when we are the back bone of the company. There are no engagements to boost morale. The bathrooms are dirty and often don’t have any water. There is a severe problem with leaders communicating information over to us. Also, you do NOT get payslips in your email. You have to be going back and forth with so called HR for months to get just one payslip.

Their advice

If you are able to use this as a stepping stone to something better, do it ! Dont settle.
